Drill Baby Drill!!

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Larry “Drill Drill Drill” Kudlow move over, we now have moved to the next step in the “Drill Wars”. Michael Steele last night at the republican convention coined… “Drill Baby Drill!”

All kidding aside, this election is going to be a referendum on the economy and oil. Larry Kudlow coined the “drill drill drill” mantra, and although he has a great show on CNBC, not many people watch him or even know who he is.

In T Boon Pickens latest ad, he says we should “drill drill drill”. I’m sure it’s Kudlow he is quoting, but he then goes off on another point.

Take a look at Steel’s speech. It was very good.

Sarah Palin will straighten John McCain out

Friday, August 29th, 2008

The choice of Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate today was a surprise to me… and just about everyone else I’ve been listening to all day. The more I hear about her, the more I like her.

Maybe she can straighten John McCain out when it comes to drilling for oil in Alaska. Take a look at what she said on Larry “drill drill drill” Kudlow’s show in June.

Among that…

  • She said “no thanks” to Congress when they passed an earmark for that bridge to nowhere.
  • She has a son being deployed to Iraq later this year.
  • She has cut hundreds of projects out of the state budget.
  • When gas prices went up this year and Alaska started earning some extra income from the higher price of oil, she arranged a rebate (I believe $1200) to every taxpayer in the state.
  • She hunts, fishes and has five children.

Did I mention she was also a women?

Drill, Drill, Drill

What is with congress? We are on the verge of a major energy crisis (everything in Washington CD seems to be a crisis, but this one really is) and they go on summer vacation!

This is not like the tax debate, or the abortion debate, or the health insurance debate. With all of those, you are either for  them or against  them. You cannot be for higher taxes and lower taxes at the same time. You can’t be for abortion and against it.

But with this energy (gas) crisis, you can  support both sides. Let’s face it, who really knows what the best policy will be over the next 10 years?

  • Will we be able to generate alternative forms of energy?
  • Will we be able to get T Boon Pickens wind farms setup?
  • Will Detroit develop an engine that will get 100 miles per gallon?
  • Will nuclear plants be built so we can generate cheaper electricity?

You don’t have the answer, I don’t have the answer, and believe it that nobody in Washington has the answer. So, why don’t we just do all of the above and also DRILL, DRILL, DRILL!

We should drill off shore, and in Alaska, and do whatever we can do to extract the oil out of the shale in the Midwest.

Note to Environmentalists:
Give me a break. Just about every other country in the world with oil reserves, on shore and off shore, are drilling. Even liberal socialist countries like Norway and Sweden. Cuba and China have an agreement to drill off the coast of Cuba… which is also right off the coast of Florida. It just doesn’t make sense that we don’t drill and everyone else does.

We can drill without killing animals and polluting the shores. Hurricane Katrina blew through the Gulf and not one drop of oil was spilled from any of the drills we currently have off shore.

It’s time for you to get over and it’s time for the Democrats in Congress to act.

Imagine if…

Let say, we do develop alternatives that will replace most of our gasoline consumption in the next ten years. What are we going to do with all that oil we are drilling off shore and in Alaska?

We become an OIL EXPORTER! There is no way China and India, and other developing conuntries will also be weaned off oil and gas in the next ten years. We could end up exporting more oil then we import today. Sounds like a win, win situation to me.
