Obama says move your business to China

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Really? He just said, after watching the Olympics he has realized that China’s infrastructure is better than ours (or anywhere else) so businesses are going to be looking into moving their business to China.

Did I miss something? Did he take a day trip to China like he did to Bagdag and get the scoop? Nope. Just saw it on TV. Great resource. The fact is NBC has done their best to make the Beijing Olympics look their best. We never see poor people, rundown buildings, even the smog is not mentioned that often.

But let’s get back to Obama. The infrastructure in China is better? Was he paying attention about a month ago when they got hit by an earthquake? Thousands of children were killed while they were in school. In this country, don’t we use schools as shelters from hurricanes and earthquakes. You will never convince me that if we got hit by an earthquake of equal strength that we would be hurt so bad.

But, he thinks business should move there. Why? Because they don’t have any environmental laws, no labor laws, the use slave and child labor, people make about twelve cents a day.

Get real Obama. The only reason China’s economy is booming is we are buying their products. If our economy hits the toilet (which it will no) then their economy will be in worse shape.  What we are seeing in Beijing is “eye candy” built to impress the world during the Olympics.

Is he really clueless?

Where did the outrage go on gas prices?

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

What happened? Gas prices fall below $4.00 a gallon at the pump and everyone is happy? I really thought we were going to get the pols to start drilling. The push was really on, but it sure has fizzled. Gas prices are still almost a dollar a gallon more then they were last year at this time.

You can see the trend line here: Gas Price Trend Line

Let’s not loose the focus here. We need to get off our butts and find new sources of oil AND PUMP IT! Sure, I’ll all for the alternatiaves and saving energy, but that doesn’t mean we shoudn’t DRILL DRILL DRILL.

Focus people. We are on the verge of Nancy Pelosi caving and allowing a vote on drilling. Let’s keep up the pressure

Lincoln Chaffee Endorses Obama

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Can you believe it!

The first thing is, who really cares? Chaffee lost his last attempt to be re-elected to the Senate and promptly announced that he left the Republican party (who’s he kidding, he was never in the republican party, but that is another story :-)

The thing is, during is re-election campaign, John McCain was the ONLYsenator that came to Rhode Island and campaigned for him. Is there no loyalty with these politicians? If he didn’t want to come out and endorse McCain, then just keep your mouth shut. Endorsing Obama is a real slap in the face and shows the world just what Chaffee was made of.

BTW: His father was a great senator.

The biggest opportunity, in the last 50 years.

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

So you think the economy is about to implode? You hear all this “recession” talk. You listen to Katie every night telling you how bad it is.

And you believe it. That’s sad.

Right now, the summer of 2008, the US is sitting on the biggest economic boost since we geared up for World War II.  Larry Kudlow of CNBC is a big proponent of “Drill, Drill, Drill”. But let’s face it, if Congress lifted the off shore (or Alaska) drilling moratorium today, it would take several years for the first barrel of oil to be pumped. Some say the infrastructure is in place off the coast of California and we could see oil in two years. Other say ten or more years. I don’t think this is an issue.

The real value to this is the new jobs, new industry, and new economic potential for the country. This is an industry that cannot be outsourced over seas. They are good quality jobs, and a revitalization of the oil industry in this company.

Even if we do find alternatives over the next 10 years, we could become a major oil exporter! How cool would that be, pump it here and ship it to all those developing countries. A 10 year plan for energy and economic independence.

Think about this when you vote this November.

The Paris Energy Policy IS Right!

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

I just read a response on the Huffington Post trashing Paris Hiltons energy policy.

It’s the same old liberal drivel… “drilling won’t do anything in the short term so don’t do it”. I have never heard such a ridiculous reason. At least tell the truth as to why you hate drilling:

  • You are an enviornmental kook
  • You hate oil because of global warming
  • You hate anything that works in the free market
  • You hate capitalism.

But, even if what you say IS true and we don’t get any oil from these new areas for ten years, so what? Can’t you think beyond today? Are you so short sited that you cannot see that no matter what happens with alternative fuels, there will always be a need for oil?

Sure, you know that.

Drill, Drill, Drill

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

What is with congress? We are on the verge of a major energy crisis (everything in Washington CD seems to be a crisis, but this one really is) and they go on summer vacation!

This is not like the tax debate, or the abortion debate, or the health insurance debate. With all of those, you are either for  them or against  them. You cannot be for higher taxes and lower taxes at the same time. You can’t be for abortion and against it.

But with this energy (gas) crisis, you can  support both sides. Let’s face it, who really knows what the best policy will be over the next 10 years?

  • Will we be able to generate alternative forms of energy?
  • Will we be able to get T Boon Pickens wind farms setup?
  • Will Detroit develop an engine that will get 100 miles per gallon?
  • Will nuclear plants be built so we can generate cheaper electricity?

You don’t have the answer, I don’t have the answer, and believe it that nobody in Washington has the answer. So, why don’t we just do all of the above and also DRILL, DRILL, DRILL!

We should drill off shore, and in Alaska, and do whatever we can do to extract the oil out of the shale in the Midwest.

Note to Environmentalists:
Give me a break. Just about every other country in the world with oil reserves, on shore and off shore, are drilling. Even liberal socialist countries like Norway and Sweden. Cuba and China have an agreement to drill off the coast of Cuba… which is also right off the coast of Florida. It just doesn’t make sense that we don’t drill and everyone else does.

We can drill without killing animals and polluting the shores. Hurricane Katrina blew through the Gulf and not one drop of oil was spilled from any of the drills we currently have off shore.

It’s time for you to get over and it’s time for the Democrats in Congress to act.

Imagine if…

Let say, we do develop alternatives that will replace most of our gasoline consumption in the next ten years. What are we going to do with all that oil we are drilling off shore and in Alaska?

We become an OIL EXPORTER! There is no way China and India, and other developing conuntries will also be weaned off oil and gas in the next ten years. We could end up exporting more oil then we import today. Sounds like a win, win situation to me.
